形態特徵

• Herbs, covered with septate hairs, to 30 cm tall; stems and branches square, angles obtuse, minutely hairy, puberulent at nodes.
• Leaves petiolate; petioles minutely hairy or puberulent, 5–25 mm long; blades 3–5 cm long, 1.5–4 cm wide, ovate to broadly ovate, base obtuse to cordate, apex obtuse, margins coarsely serrate, upper surface puberulent, lower surface minutely hairy, glandular dotted.
• Inflorescences of verticillate cymes, forming terminal spikes or racemes, to 25 cm long. Flowers pedicellate; pedicels minutely hairy, ca. 2.5 mm long; calyx tubular, 2–3 mm long, limb 4-lobed, upper lobe ovate, acute, lateral lobes broadly ovate, rounded at apex, lower lobe oblong, shallowly bifid at apex, with prominent veinlets; corolla puberulent, glandular dotted, 5–6 mm long, 3–4 mm wide, tube funnelform, reflexed near base, limb 2-lipped, lower lip cymbiform, upper lip broadly ovate, spreading, 3-lobed, central lobe emarginate; stamens 4, didynamous, inserted in throat; anthers 2-celled; filaments connate into a sheath around the style; stigma bifid.
• Nutlets ca. 0.8 mm wide, orbicular, slightly compressed, smooth or slightly reticulate.

• 世界 : the Ryukyus and Bantan islands.
